Other morsels (June 23-29) – Part 2

I’ll start with Friday’s lunches because I liked them best. Cantaloupe is in season now and it is delicious!

Avacado with lemon juice, ham and cream cheese rolls, cantaloupe, snack mix and babybel, jelly “broken heart” sandwich

The mustache is a drink marker that I found. I knew I could trust my pre-schooler to bring it home. I used sesame seeds for the eyes.

I made sandwich in two parts to minimize waste. The heart cutter was too big to fit entirely on the half sandwich I made, but I could cut two halves. I added the jagged interlocking to make it look a little more interesting.

Tuesday I packed a pre-school lunch and a snack for my toddler’s play date. My son said it looked like a fence — it’s a great idea for next time.

Chicken and pepper skewers, cheese lattice, pumpkin flat bread with garlic mint cheese, cucumbers, and strawberries.

Wednesday I made a rainbow lunch in honor of pride-week. My son got a kick out of this but noted that I left out indigo after violet. This looked yummy and was quick to make. I will definitely do it again.

Tier 1:salami and cream cheese sandwich, orange peppers, lemon, avacado, blueberries, and plum
Tier 2:strawberries, carrots and hummus, yellow peppers, grapes, blueberries, and plum

Thursdays lunch was more of a “hearty snack.” He ate almost every bite.

Carrots, hummus, blueberries, pumpkin flatbread, crackers, yogurt pretzels and strawberries
